Working Groups
Working groups are how members and collaborators come together to answer a question or produce a proposal for the association. Anyone can start one.
Active working groups
The board adopted the resolution and guidance on working groups on 24 August 2026, and the first groups are now registered and working.
Event Dates 2027
Preparing the information the members need to decide the 2027 event dates — wildfire and cancellation risk, weather, bird nesting and permits, other European burns’ dates, community availability — and designing the consultation that leads to the General Assembly vote on 17 September 2026.

Elsitio (New Site)
Exploring and securing a future home for the event. The group’s working material lives on its own site, elsitio.kimi.page.

Governance Meeting
A standing, open governance conversation: identifying governance shortcomings and either resolving them directly or spinning up focused working groups. Meets bi-weekly; minutes and transcripts published. Open to anyone who wants to contribute.

Sound Policy
Updating the sound policy for Elsewhere to meet the evolution of the event. Expected to deliver a draft of an updated version of the sound policy by February 2027.
MoE Improvements
Collecting ideas and discussing ways to make the Middle of Elsewhere better. Expected to produce proposals that will turn into budget requests and blueprints for the next build, by April 2027.
Organizational Structure
Clarifying the organisational structure and the activities and responsibilities of board, departments and working groups — including how coordinators are selected and deselected. Reporting by November 2026.

Start your own
To register a working group, email the Secretary, Ben D, at ben@nobodies.team with the group’s name, purpose, coordinator, expected timeline and expected output. Registration is administrative and nearly automatic: the Secretary registers the group within fourteen days, and a refusal can only be given in writing, with reasons, on the narrow grounds set out in the resolution.
