Community Meeting

Date: Thursday 26 March 2026, 19:52 CET
In the event of any discrepancy between this version and the Spanish version, the Spanish version shall prevail.
Chaired by Michael M, with board members, leads, and community members (~49 attendees)

1. Art Update

Oliver reported that the art grant application process is now open at art@nobodies.team. A new art website and downloadable art guide have been launched. Two applications have already been received, and an experienced team of approximately 10 has joined.

Artists from other events cannot be contacted directly for legal reasons, so spreading the word is essential. Recycled art is welcome and transportation costs are covered.

2. Volunteering Update

Frank F reported that the volunteering management system (Humans) has been live since the previous Sunday, with shifts filling up. 20% of gate event-time shifts are already filled.

The biggest gap is the early first crew period (week of June 15):

  • Cantina leads needed (contact Prosper)
  • Placement/GPS flagging team needed
  • Power crew, infrastructure, container unloading

Bario cooks are welcome at the crew kitchen during early build.

3. Comms Update

Shauna B reported on communications efforts:

  • WhatsApp and Telegram channels being promoted — please share
  • Newsletter launched; first campaign will focus on early build recruitment, second on cantina
  • Instagram starting — focused on art, barios, and community stories rather than information
  • Logo competition closed with 13 submissions

4. Finance Update

  • Cash flow spreadsheet built from previous expenses over time.
  • Budget reviewed and aligned with current plans.
  • Target: 25 ticket sales per day until end of April.
  • First major expense: VAT payment (~20K) at end of April.
  • Department budgets being added to the Humans platform with expected purchase dates.
  • Organisation-wide budget tracking view coming, with percentage-based dials.

5. Ticketing Update

Aaron R reported:

  • Sales progressing well; queries answered within approximately 24 hours
  • Wave 1 pricing (275 euros) expires April 14 or at threshold
  • Low-income applicants: Wave 1 pricing preserved if application is unsuccessful
  • Absolute ticket numbers not being shared publicly
  • Buses confirmed; details being finalised

6. Barios

  • Registration open; survival guide nearly ready.
  • Requirements: water cube (30 people), shower per camp, fire extinguishers, structures over 2.5m need safety check.
  • Requirements are driven by Spanish permit regulations.
  • Registration provides access to placement, power, water, ice, gas, and container services.

7. Google Ads

The organisation has been declared nonprofit by Google, making free AdWords allocation available. Proposed narrow use targeting specific keywords to help community members find the organisation. Mixed views from the community; consensus to cautiously explore the allocation.

8. Other Items

  • Fire drill: same approach as previous event (simulation with teams).
  • Viability sense-check meeting planned for late April.
  • Barcelona/Spanish-language Discord section suggested.
